Sugar Loaf, the granite rock standing 770 feet tall at the entrance to Guanabara bay, is best visited as the sun sets in Marvelous City. You can watch the lights flicker on in the city and the setting sun silhouette Corcovado before floodlights illuminate it for the night. First you take the panoramic cable car at Avenida Pasteur (Praia Vermelha) in Urca district to Urca Mountain, then another to Sugar Loaf Sugar Loaf
