Firenze, April 18th-19th, 2008

Practical Information

Before your arrival

Entry visas are required by the nationals of countries outside the European Community. Participants should confirm for themselves as to whether or not they need a visa for entering Italy.
Participants coming from the European Community should bring with them the E128 or E11 form, a document which demonstrates that the holder is entitled to free or reduced cost medical treatment for any condition during the meeting.

Organizing the visit to Firenze (travel tickets, hotel reservations, etc.) is up to participants. We apologize for the inconvenience. For accommodations please look the internet. A few hotels are listed below.

Since in April there is usually a strong presence of tourists in Florence, we suggest to book a hotel as soon as possible.

The town of Firenze

Have a look at this plan.

Airports

Firenze and the Firenze Airport Amerigo Vespucci are connected by city buses. There is also a good connection from the Pisa Airport (also known as the Pisa-Florence Airport Galileo Galilei) by the railway service Pisa Airport-Firenze in about 60 minutes.

Trains

To check train timetables you may use the official site of Trenitalia.

Bus

The Facoltà di Ingegneria can be reached from the Firenze Airport or the railway station using taxis or city buses. The city bus number 4 (four) reaches the Facoltà di Ingegneria from the right side of the railway station in about 15 minutes. Ask the driver for the right bus stop. Buy an even number of tickets or a biglietto multiplo which permits four trips at a smaller price.

Accommodation

Here we list some hotels. Please contact them.
